Baby Love and Naked Butts December 21, 2007

Filed under: Doodle Bug — musingsofamama @ 2:05 am

I am sitting here, letting Doodle Bug’s bootie air out, as she has developed a diaper rash (any advice?) today.  Although I am terrified she is going to pee, or worse, on my bed, I can not help but to be in awe of her perfect, round, pink, pinchable tooshie.  They just don’t come any cuter than baby butts, do they?

I haven’t just been in awe of Doodle’s butt, these days, but of Doodle as a whole.  She will be 6 months soon, and is starting to go through seperation anxiety.  I have to shamelessly admit though, that I love it.

Man… there is NOTHING like baby love.  This little, innocent, perfect being who loves you so much it makes your heart burst.  I can be gone for two minutes, and I come back to her kicking her legs, flailing her arms, and giving me a grin from ear to ear.  She is SO happy to see me, and it has only been two minutes!  It’s like she missed me so much that she just couldn’t stand it.

There is no other high like it in the whole world…

Not Fair December 16, 2007

Filed under: Friends — musingsofamama @ 11:25 pm

I have an aquaintance that I used to work with who I still talk to from time to time.  She is also a good friend of another friend of mine, so I get updates on her every so often.

This aquaintance has a little boy who is almost three.  She and her husband tried for years to get pregnant with him, and finally they succeeded through invitro.  About a year ago, she and her husband wanted to try the whole grueling process again to ave a brother or sister for their son.  Her doctor was on the east coast, as that is where they used to live, so she started going back for appointments.  It was finally decided that her eggs that had been saved would be shipped to Las Vegas so she could undergo the process here.

Well, sadly, all of the eggs died by the time they got here.  She was devistated.  Soon after though, a miracle happened and they found out they were pregnant!  On their own!!!  I was SO happy to hear this news.  The pregnancy was going along beautifully, and she was due this spring.  I ran into my friend of this friend this weekend, and she told me that she was almost 20 weeks pregnant, went in for a routine ultrasound, and they found out that the baby had died.

My heart breaks for this woman.  After suffering an earlier miscarriage myself, I can not imagine what it must be like to have one at 20 weeks.  I have been thinking about her all weekend.  I really try to be one of those “everything happens for a reason” type of people, but life is just seems so darned unfair sometimes…

The Best Gift… December 5, 2007

Filed under: Mr. Man — musingsofamama @ 5:04 pm

The Best Gift…

The best gift
That I ever got
Didn’t really weigh a lot
It didn’t have a ribbon ’round
And it sometimes made the terrible sound
The best of all it seems to me
It wasn’t neath the christmas tree
And yet, I guess I’d have to say
That it made all the other presents twice as gay
The best gift that I’ve ever known
I’d always wanted most to own
Yet in my dreams of sugar and spice
I never thought it could be so nice
The best gift that I ever get
Was sometimes dry and sometimes wet
Was usually pink but oftentimes red
As it lay so innocently in its bed
The best gift of the year to me
The one I hold most dear to me
A gift that simply drove me wild
Was a tiny new born child…

Happy fourth birthday Mr. Man.  You are the best Christmas gift I ever got, and will ever get!!!  My cup runneth over every day that you are in my life… I love you more than you will ever know.

This was taken at Flute Girl’s bridal shower!  JJ is the dark haired beauty with the big boobies that I have always been jealous of.

JJ and I got an email from  one of our dearest friends, Flute Girl the other day.  She heard about the blog from Banana and was joking that we needed to get together soon so she could be on the blog!  She is going to be laughing at the name “Flute Girl”, because we first met in Junior High when we were taking private flute classes.  We were even in a recital together, and I have a God awful picture of her and I in it somewhere.  She actually looks very sweet and cute… I on the other hand look God awful with my 80’s “up to the sky” bangs!  What was I thinking???

My dear Flute Girl, you don’t need to see me (although I do want you to!) to be on the blog!  I love you enough to type away about you regardless!!!

Flute Girl got married to an amazing guy this past April.  Here is a pic of the beautimus bride and the preggo bride’s maid.  Isn’t she just glowing???  It was such a happy day, and I will forever be honored that I was a part of it!

Love you Flute Girl…
